Interested in the fields of educational communication and computational social science studies, Hatty WANG has been committed to three academic works in new media, social networking analysis, and digital youth development when she worked as Full-time Research Assistant in Hong Kong Baptist University. Also, she is the 1 st contributor of Chapter IV in “Hong Kong Digital Media Report 2018” (edited by Li & Huang, 2018) and a data compiler contributed to study the HK digital media platforms. Recently working for the Department of Education Studies, Faculty of Social Science, HKBU, she is assisting in two communication technology projects, which are both about digital natives and media multitasking. What’s more, during the work experiences, she has excelled at:

a.) Quantitative and qualitative researches: social media analysis, questionnaire survey, systematic review, and qualitative systematic review.

b.) Abilities to review the high-quality literature, probe the right theoretical frameworks, find useful research methods, and cultivate the necessary skills for the aims of studies.

c.) A series of quantitative and qualitative analysis tools like SPSS, Tableau, and Nvivo; and the high-level programming language Python, once using Python to practice or do web scraping, statistical analysis & visualization, and simple content analysis.

Before obtaining two terms of work experiences as a research assistant, she held M.A. with Communication Studies in School of Communication, HKBU in 2018 and B.A. with Business English at Zhejiang International Studies University in 2017, and she used to intern as Manager Assistant for a sub-branch of China Construction Bank (CCB) as well as Commissioner Assistant in a media company (Ergeng Network & Technology, Co, Ltd.) for eight months in Mainland.
